THE CHARACTER
Name: Tino Väinämöinen
Age: 20
Hometown: Espoo, Finland
Appearance: For Tino, let's start from the feet up. He has petite feet, often clad in small white trainers, no socks. Moving up slightly, his pale white ankles are in plain sight, showing off how thin they are. If you continue on up, you'll realise that he tends to wear three-quater length denim trousers. They're his favourites, you see, so he has more than one, incase he looses a pair. Furthur up, there's a hankerchief hanging out of his pocket because, well, he never goes out without one. Just in case he needs it. Then there's the belt above that. He needs a belt because he happens to be quite thin, so a lot of his trousers don't fit him properly around the waist. His belts tend to be wide but simply decorated with a small metal buckle.
Even furthur up, there's his midriff in plain sight. Creamy white and smooth, you can see how thin he is, practically bordering on anorexia, yet he enjoys his food too much to acctually
be anorexic. It's best to stop thinking about it and continue up. But before you do, also note his long, thin fingers. Ideal for playing the piano... If he knew how to. His neck is long and slender, very swan-like and elegant. Resting daintily on that neck was a perfectly shaped head, framed by soft, white-blond bangs swept to one side of his face. On top of his head perches a hat. It's a white beret, which you will never see him without, ever.
The most prominant thing about Tino, however, the thing that sticks out the most, are his wide, violet-blue eyes which shine with happiness and delight almost all of the time. Certainly the most outstanding feature of him.
Personality: He's chirpy, he's bubbly and he's fun-loving. The first three descriptive words for Tino. On the flip side, he's stern but gentle, easily upset and easily frightened. The simplest things can make him start crying, either compassionately or mere self-pity. However, even though he’s quick to start blubbing, he’s also quick to stop, being easily cheered up with a hug or something cute. He likes all things fun, too, though, and don't hesitate to give him a box of chocolates, even if you aren't romantically involived... But if you
are looking for romantic relations with him, a box of chocolates might not help him get the message. That is to say, Tino's quite air-headed when it comes to other’s feelings, but he could at least read the atmosphere in the room.
He’s also good at keeping secrets, so if you’ve got a secret you desperately need to tell someone, tell him. He’s also good at comforting people. He isn’t sure about his advice, but sometimes it works, and he tries to be wise for his friends, to make sure they lead good lives.

Job: Set designer
Experience: He’d been working as a starving artist since he was 17, and has been designing and making sets for all sorts of productions for three years.
Extra details: He’s also happy to fill in for any make-up artist who’s off sick or away for one reason or another.
Brief History: Born in the small town of Espoo, in Finland, Tino had grown up with his grandmother learning Finnish, English and some Spanish. He was home schooled by his beloved grandmother after his parents had died when he was very young, too young to know them. All the same, it makes him sad to know that he could have known them under different circumstances. And by the amount of money they left for him, they certainly loved him (Though it was dwindling quickly). Still, Tino accepted that he hadn’t a Mother or Father, and all of his time was spent on developing his skills and looking after his Grandmother, who enjoyed pampering him.
When he was 16 and allowed to live by himself, he moved to America to work to gain more money and make a proper living, live a proper life. His dream is to make a family before returning to transport his grandmother to America to look after her there until her death. This plan hasn’t been put to action yet, but Tino is looking forward to it.
After a year of struggling with his work, he came across an advertisement, begging for set designers, as it was urgent. Leaping on this opportunity, Tino applied, brought in his portfolio and was almost immediately accepted. It was like a dream come true.

There it was. The train that would take Tino away from his home-town. At least he would be riding for free, for the last carriage would be packed with people who can’t afford to ride properly and settle for standing on or next to the bales of hay for farms and various other places with stables. The train slowed to a stop and people hopped on or off. Tino squeezed in with the other poor people and tried to hold onto something. Although, the sheer number of people was keeping him upright, with no place to fall.
Tino rode for a fair few hours, and was growing weary of his trip. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. O, how he yearned for his grandmother to tuck him into his cosy bed back home. But no! He shook his head vigorously and took a deep breath. He was out to make money, not feel sorry for himself! Ok, this looked like a good place to get off, so Tino hopped off and continued on, persevering solely for his grandmother.
After a few days more of travelling, Tino was about ready to collapse. However, he walked and walked, convinced he could hear music coming from somewhere. Though it may have been his imagination, he walked and walked. Oh! Was that…? It was!
There was a brightly coloured tent in the distance, in its blazing (and quite overwhelming) glory. Tino’s knees trembled as he picked up his pace. There was a person there, as well! His breath came out in uneven pants, but a grin was set on his face. Charging towards what was unquestionably a circus, Tino felt a rush of pride swamp him.
To the man, he called out, “Excuse me! O, excuse me! I’m Tino! And I’ve come to be a part of your circus!” Once the sentence was out, Tino’s knees hit the soft, dewy grass, and he collapsed, his breath coming out in rough pants. He passed out.
